The University Sustainability Centre (USC) provides a range of services to support sustainable development, community transformation, and academic innovation at UNIMAS and beyond.
Our services include:
- Community Engagement & Empowerment – Designing and implementing programs that strengthen local livelihoods, education, and cultural preservation through participatory approaches.
- Sustainability Advisory & Consultancy – Offering expertise on sustainability strategies, environmental management, and policy development for government agencies, industries, and communities.
- Training & Capacity Building – Delivering workshops, seminars, and professional training on sustainability practices, digital literacy, community-based participatory research (CBPR), and STEM education.
- Partnership Development – Building collaborative networks between universities, government, NGOs, and local communities to achieve impactful outcomes aligned with national and global development agendas.
- Student & Youth Development – Supporting experiential learning opportunities such as SULAM, CARE and leadership programs that empower students to be agents of change.
USC actively contributes to knowledge sharing and thought leadership in sustainability, community development, and environmental conservation through its publications. Integrated Sustainability Information Management System (i-SIMS)
To ensure effective monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of sustainability initiatives, UNIMAS has developed the Integrated Sustainability Information Management System (i-SIMS). This digital platform serves as a central hub for collecting, managing and analyzing data related to community projects and sustainability performance across the university.
Key Functions of i-SIMS:
- Tracks progress on UNIMAS’s sustainability targets and SDG contributions.
- Provides a centralized reporting system for faculties, centres, and units.
- Ensures transparency and accountability in sustainability performance.
- Supports decision-making by offering real-time data and analytics.
- Facilitates documentation for audits, rankings and external reporting.
