UNIMAS Becomes the First Public University in Malaysia to Publish an ESG Report and Adopt a University-wide ESG Policy
Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) became the first public university in Malaysia to publish an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report and implement a comprehensive ESG Policy across its campus. The policy integrates sustainability into teaching, research, and campus operations, including the Low Carbon Campus Roadmap, which promotes energy-efficient renovations and building standards. Supported by the UNIMAS Sustainability Masterplan and a GHG Dashboard, the initiatives ensure all new builds and refurbishments follow energy-saving practices. Through these frameworks, UNIMAS demonstrates a strong commitment to reducing energy consumption, fostering sustainable infrastructure, and setting a benchmark for universities nationwide.
